Minneapolis-based multi-instrumentalist MMYYKK comes through with a sublime new project titled ElectroSoul EP. It’s a mesmerising body of work, full of angelic synths and keys throughout that add so much soul and ethereal qualities.
The beat on “Better [For the Love]” kicks this EP off beautifully with smooth keys and MMYYKK’s voice that is as soulful and smooth as silk. His melodies are wonderful throughout, and the percussion-heavy instrumental is truly outstanding. This is the case throughout the entire project, with tracks like “Bat [For You]” and “Manifestation [Mantra]” featuring some beautifully angelic keys and stunning vibes throughout. The drums add a bounce and beat to the track, as I see my head nodding subtly to the grooves of these tracks. The guitar leads on the former track are especially stunning, while it’s the synths on the latter track bring a funky and cosmic energy throughout. “The Sweetest [Embrace]” ends the album off with a high-paced yet subtle beat, with gorgeous keys and synths bringing a soft and soulful touch to the track, while the horn sections throughout the record add a true jazzy touch that’s just beautiful throughout. Overall, ElectroSoul EP is a smooth, meditative and warm listen, bringing stunning chords and an other-worldly vibe that’s truly mesmerising and captures so much soul and passion. Amazing release!
